Smart trainer with Netflix, Prime Video & co.
Many indoor kilometres are ridden in front of a show. The problem: training and streaming run in two apps – Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+ or YouTube.
The two-app problem
Start the streaming app and the training app disappears into the background. You no longer see intervals, watts and heart rate – and switching back and forth on the TV with sweaty hands is annoying.
The fix: training as a small window
Better: the workout keeps running as a small window in the corner – watts, target, time left, heart rate. It controls the smart trainer in ERG mode, you just pedal.
Control without the remote
The remote stays with the show. Easier, harder, pause: that’s simplest from your phone – or by voice.
Which shows work?
For easy rides anything with a plot; for intervals rather episodes you don’t need to follow closely. Documentaries and cooking shows make surprisingly good training partners.
Frequently asked questions
Does this work with an exercise bike or indoor bike?
Yes. If it supports the Bluetooth FTMS standard, BLOX controls the resistance just like a smart trainer. Without control you train by heart rate and cadence: BLOX sets the heart-rate range and the beat, you set the resistance.
Does it work with Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+ or YouTube?
Yes. The training window sits on top of any app on the TV, not just Netflix.
Can I train and watch Netflix or Prime Video on the TV at the same time?
Yes, if the training app keeps running in the background and stays visible as a small window. It’s best controlled from your phone.
